They are trying to get a law passed here that electrical work can only be done by licensed union workers -- after a 7 year apprenticeship! Criminy, 7 year apprenticeship to replace an outlet? Tractors are far more dangerous, that would probably be a 15 year apprenticeship!

Bought my B2410 used and not one safety shutoff is enabled, not sure how or why, never looked, but even the mid mower would keep turning on dismount if I didn't pop out the PTO.

Hey...one great thing about hydro is you can move the tractor when off it by pushing on the pedal with your hand! Just don't stand in front of the tires. Actually this would be highly frowned on by the safety police but it sure comes in handy quite often.

the biggest piece of safety equipment is your brain.

This comment may have to be taken with a grain of salt. In my case, same as for probably many others there is a near perfect brain [ read unused ] sitting between the ears.

A cable tie and some electrical tape took care of that PITA on both my JD2520 and L130.

My seat switch has a pushbutton over-ride. It requires a constant push. I needed the occasional ability to stand up to see while in motion. Yet if something happens the tractor will still die as designed. The deere's have a PTO override for fixed operation.

I did it in the first week I owned my tractor. Yours may not be this simple.

That's exactly how I disabled my Lawyer Switches on the 4200 & L130.

Tractors are no longer designed by engineers. Lawyers and the courts design them now because of law suits and injuries. I am retired military and I have been in a couple of conflicts, I know what living on the edge is all about. I plan on keeping all my safety's intact.

If the union want's to pay me for those 15 years of mowing, dirt moving, log hauling, tilling, plowing, planting, ect .....

You know the old saying about what you call 200 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean? Well add about 3 zeros, then double it and put in that many politicians too!

If government was 1/50th it's current size it would still be 10x larger than it was in 1900. Think about it.

My montana did not come with a safety seat interlock. I think the only actual safeties on it are:

1. Wont start with out the clutch pushed in

2. Wont start with the PTO switch turned on.

Other than that you can get out of the seat and it wont die. Use implements in reverse or anything else the tractor can do.

Because your Montana was built on an AG model of tractor...mimimal safety intrusions...
