I'm curious. The "big 3" owners are always talking about how long their tractors last and how the chinese tractors are "throw aways". So, how many hours do you have on your tractor? How many years have you had it?

Thanks...

I have 125 hours in not quite a year. A friend has 450 hours on his in 3 years. Thingy has said that he has over 600 hours in 4 years.

I had a customer come in and order a part and he claims to have nearly 5000 hours on Jinma 254, about 3 years old. I have not seen it myself, but don't see any reason he would make that up. He had broken a front drive axel. I hae seen several with 400-500 hours.

That's about 4.5 hours per day, every day, for 3 years...

Hey Joe,

They have to come up with some kind of logical explanation, to their Chief Financial Officer(Wife), as to why they spent so much Money on their Tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I didn't have to explain anything to my wife when I bought my Deere that has 226hrs after 2 years. Nor did I have to explain anything to my wife when I bought my little 20 year old Bolens diesel that had 800+ hrs on it, but it cost only $1700.

I don't think the Chinese tractors have been around long enough to see some serious hours on them yet. They are still fairly new and are gaining momentum. 200-300 hours on a tractor is nothing. Get 1000 hours and then start touting it's durability. I have had a Yanmar with 2000 hours.

We're working on accumulating the hours. I'm sure in a few years there will be Chinese tractors with a couple thousand hours on em. People usually don't buy them for their businesses because of the unknown. But as the hours accumulate and the reliability reports start rolling in, hopefully we will find out they are pretty good deals. Like I said before, I paid as much for my Quad and the tractor sure does a lot more to benefit me than the 4 wheeler.. They are both fun though..

Hey Brent,

Yes the Chinese Tractors are Relatively New to the US Market, but they have been on the seen for at least since 1990.

Stay Tuned, and we will report the hours as they accumulate, but I suspect that there are several Chinese Tractors out there running around, with 1000 hours or more on the clocks right now.

BlueChip, reported in a post above, that he was told that someone had 5000 hours on his machine.

By the way, On that Yanmar, did you sell the tractor, at aproximately 2000 hours, and was it still performing and Engine running in TipTop Condition at that point?

I bought it at approximately 1800 hrs and I had to replace the glow plugs in it and put a PTO seal on it. It was the only Yanmar that I have had with glow plugs. Actually when I sold the tractor it was still running great. I use to buy and sell tractors on a regular basis and tried to keep my purchases to tractors with under 1000 hours. This one was an exception, it was in tip top shape when I got it and ran like a top when I sold it and the Powershift transmission functioned flawlessly.
