Who is excited for snow season? Not us! We're depressed due to lack of snow.

Supposed to be a mix of rain and snow for Trick or Treat. Poor kids.

I recall one particularly miserable Halloween like that as a kid. Rain and snow. So my mom put me in a winter jacket, put a yellow raincoat over it, handed me a fishing pole and said, "There, you're a fisherman!"

I can recall getting a snow shower on holloween night several times,
In 2015 we had snow flakes in the air the 17th.
Dang stuff, certainly don't look forward to it.
And, my big peeve is snow on mud or not frozen ground makes for a heck of a mess.

I decided to throw the chains on and mount the snowblower even tho it hasn't snowed more since Tuesday, but we've had single digits at night making the surfaces mount a base already from the 8'' almost a week ago. Figure it need to come on sooner or later? First year with the hydraulic deflector installed on the blower.

It's time to swap the winter ice tires/wheels onto the wife's car.

Gee our roads are slippery as snot this am and I was moving a trailer to storage. 1st hill to go down a 1/2 a bock from our house I just about slide through the stop. Started to drive around looking for a more causal hill to get down to lake level. Nearly slid into two vehicles. Who needs snow tires???

It gets exciting here too, the first slick day (week) of the year. It keeps the body shops busy.

Wet leaves are like ice here.

I recall as a kid we'd ride our bikes this time of year and lock our coaster brakes in the wet leaves and see who could skid up the biggest pile.

I also recall riding on thin ice on mud puddles to hear the ice crunch.

Then I also recall dad making us rake wet leaves to get them off the grass before it snowed, locking them down for the winter.

The transition from fall to winter. Fond memories.

Was until today got about 6" roads are a mess didn't really pm anything yet except welded a pipe on a beat up cutting edge and burned a few rods of 8018 for hard facing, my place is a mess, tomorrow will tackle all projects I should have.

We didn't get enough to spit on. As usual the higher country got much more and some went skiing. That's ok sine we got pre-show things to do.
