40-50:1 depending on the tree.
do you have a pictures of your sugar shack /setup and even your sugar wagon (I am assuming your not pipe direct) ? do you mind sharing ? I always like seeing pictures like these.

One thing I was stunned to see was how much temperature lost in the sap each time you put wood in the stove, I knew the fire gets colder each time you put wood in it but I figures the sap temperature would at least stay the same.

You over estimate the size of this "operation". ;-)

When the kids were at home, we would set out about 80 buckets. Then haul the sap to a local operation for boiling in exchange for some syrup. That was great fun for the kids! Only boiling for ourselves enough for a few gallons of Fancy to give away.

Now it's just the wife and I , last year we made five gallons of syrup from 6 taps. A great year.
6 taps set again Saturday. If we get a decent season, we might make another 5 gal. The year prior to last, we only put up a bit over two gallons syrup.

I boil in the open air, under an eave of the house. using a gasoline fueled Coleman stove. I carry the sap by hand ;-)

The buckets are getting old, not sure what to do with the 40 or so getting rusty in the barn.

Sell them to homeowners along with a certificate of authenticity as rustic room decor.

Yeah ecstatic. 😡 Leave for a few days with a little snow comeback my old bravo is in the yard several hundred feet from where it's stored in the barn and it's 50 degrees out.
