Who is that man...

I was watching a video tape yesterday. Jake was holding a wild kitten that was trying to scratch him to ribbons, and we were laughing as I made the footage for posterity. He looked pretty much the same in the little window of the camera, but his voice sounded like something that would come out of a child. Light and high and lilting.

I sat there watching, wondering, and he came along and made the comment.

"Are you watching that again?"

Then he breezed on by, not really expecting or wanting an answer.

The voice that came fom him this time was nothing like what was on the tape. It was low and gravely and a person couldn't help but pay attention. The voice commanded attention. The voice could almost say a cuss word now and probably get away with it.

This happened when I was busy I guess. This change that went unpercepted by the human ear but was captured by the camera, forcing me to remember that every day holds a new change, whether I like it or not.

I glanced at him as he passed, the size fourteen foot, the 34 X 36 jeans, the t-shirt that is two sizes too small that he still wears because it was one of his favorites and I wonder..who is that man, and what did he do with my boy? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Thanks Cindy. As a father of a little girl who is almost ready to hit her first birthday, you give me a reminder to spend the time, and enjoy every min.of my time with her. [eaven the bad crying ones /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif] People tell me the time goes fast. That I don't know becouse she is my first, but I will try to slow the time down as much as I can. Thanks! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I probably don't have to tell you this, but take lots and lots of pictures, but not so many that you aren't willing to go through it again because when the next one comes along they have a habit of counting/comparing pictures. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

My youngest looks through old photos and says ' are there ANY pictures of me. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Thanks goodness everybody has a 'milestone' book. One years worth of baby pictures, first (holiday) day of school so on.

LOL I know the feeling. I am the third of three kids. Looking through pictures, I see like three, or four of me, and a ton of my sisters. Guess thats just the way it works. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I think it's mostly economics, the more mouths to feed, the less money for film and developing. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
