I'm researching the Kifco "Water Reel" to use on my horse pastures and riding arena. How many Gallons Per Minute do you need from the well to function for it to work properly? Do you need a certain permit for the well usage (well is my name)? Is it a hassle to set up for every usage? What did you pay and is it worth the price? Thank You for your response!

A quick search for the colorado water resources board brought up Guide to Colorado well permits. Giving it a casual look, it seems that if you plan on drawing more than 15GPM, you will need a permit.

The smallest system's water requirement is 9 gpm for 10 hours to water 1/2 acre (as per the website).

As a side note, why is there grass in your riding arena?

I'll wager there is no grass in his arena. He probably needs to water down the arena to control dust. At least most indoor arenas need to.

Ahh...

Up here we use sprinklers set on the second rail of the fence. Cheap, permanent & you can turn it on from the barn /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
