It goes right down to crowding out the Veterans of national news in favor of younger and better looking anchors.

Some veterans needed "crowding out" Blather being one of the most notable in my opinion. That was a good change.

The story goes that some big famous rapper was bragging to Ray Charles about his music , so Ray asked him to hum the melody for him. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Country, Southern Rock, Classical Rock and Bluegrass are my favorite kinds of music. I'm more dedicated to country than any though.

I agree that there are some artist out there in Country Music that just ain't country. Then on the other hand there are Country artists out there that don't always stick to more traditional country sound. I just sort out what I like and tune out the rest.

I like music I can relate to and is why I choose what I listen too. No disrespect or bashing towards other cultures or preferences of music. I respect all artist of any genre of music that can be talented enough to play an instrument and sing good vocals.

With some of the replies on this thread you can see why country music has been turning into not so country music. Because more and more people think country music sounds boring and it's the same story all the time. Therefore the reason today's artists are coming out with the more pop rock sound. They gotta make a living just as you and I and if it's following the non traditional country sound to entertain young crowds then some artists jump at the chance to make more $$$ and go for it instead of standing there ground on the traditional end. A.J. and George S. are as close as it gets anymore.

If you don't like country music then don't listen to it. Why be so hateful or killful towards an american tradition like country music? Some folks just have no respect for other peoples values outside their tunnel of vision. Guess that's the way some folks are. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Hmmm....I didn't know country music was dead. I get in my car and it comes out of the radio /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif That must all be prerecorded if its really dead. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No, I'm in the same vein as some of the others here. I like lots of what I hear on our local country station. Some of it makes me turn it off or put in a CD. What can you say....nothings perfect. I grew up with Alabama, Conway Twitty, Reba, John Anderson... but I appreciate the music of some of the newer folks. Dare I name some? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Well, sometimes you can't tune it out if you are in a public place and they are playing it over an intercom,or if you are at work and the radio is on and someone else wants to listen to modern country.
I don't think it is in regards to respecting peoples values or not respecting them.I think it is a matter of personel preference.

I think music from my teens was terrible, but music has gotten alot better nowdays. Overweight men in there 50's dont appeal to teenage girls with pockets full of their parents money ready to buy posters, concert tickets etc... Young guys do its a business and thats life for you.

I heard "Convoy" on our Classic country station on the way to work today a favortie of mine.

Well I'm an unlikely country fan...........actually I'm not sure I'm a country fan at all. But of late I've had the urge to hear some of the songs I liked and listened to on my grandparents LP player when I was just a boy. Hence Johnny Horton, Marty Robbins and several Johnny Cash albums have recently entered my CD collection. My wife gets a kick out of me, I'll put Marty Robbins on the tray with The Clash and The Ramones and slide from Psycho Therapy and Clampdown right into El Paso, no problem. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
