The old Scott's walk behind fertilizer spreader has almost seen its better days. So has the power source behind it.

Who makes a decent quality but not too expensive 3PT spreader to fit the BX?

Got a Befco 203 3-pt spreader for the B2400. It's a good piece of equipment, well built and should last me all my days. Check out their website, I think they have smaller ones that should work well on a BX. I junked the old Agri-fab tow behind that was a leftover from the lawn tractor days. I don't know about being inexpensive though. If my memory serves me correctly, which it often doesn't these days, I think it was $600+. The tow behind version was even more expensive. Check out TSC, I think they have a cheaper one and it's not one of those pieces of equipment that sees a whole lot of use.

Spyker makes a great smaller 3pt spreader. They are a bit higher in price, but they are well built. Here is the URL www.spyker.com

I wanted a 3ph PTO driven spreader, but the prices were so high that I just went with a little AgriFab tow behind. The rolling wheel drives a little gear to the spreader and it works fine. 'twas much cheaper than any 3ph PTO driven unit that I could find.

I need to spread lovely stuff on the lawn four or five times a year. Walking arounf an acre and half od lawn is not too bad, but being able to do it SUPER QUICK with the tractor would be nice. I wonder if an electric non PTO version sould be cheaper and you could mount it to the rear with a box hitch mount.

After looking at a few of the site it might better to walk around. The spread on the BEFCO is 46 FEET!. That will get the lawn done quick but not too uniform for fertilizer. Can you dial that down or does someone make one with a 6 to 10 foot spread.

I picked up an Herd M-96 at a local auction for $60, works good and not too heavy to move around.
