if you like the wedco, check out Cheaper Than Dirt - America's Ultimate Shooting Sports Discounter

they sell a czech military gas can almost the exact same design in OD green and it's less than 20 bucks as military surplus.

i bought one last year for diesel. it is heavy, but seems to work well enough and is made of metal. i got the rubber pour spout (zbq-1411) for 8 bucks extra. all NATO compliant.

looks like they might be out of stock at the moment, though...

UPDATE,My son is going to go with the type shown in the link below. We used these in the past but,I didn't know that they were still available in non-carb form. They come in round and square and not overly expensive although the hose is extra.
Thanks again for all the input....Mike.

WEDCO update..... FINALLY got home from the NJ trip. Stopped at the Northern Tool store in Fargo on the way back...hoping to find some NON-CARB gas can spouts.....NO such LUCK.

Got home and my WEDCO can was in the garage with the other UPS goodies that arrived the past two+ weeks ......gotta LOVE the Brown Truck!!

My initial "take" on the new yellow can was how well it's finished or more specifically the great paint job. I've seen new cars that didn't have such a sweet finish. Very well done inside (also coated) and out. Worth the asking price IMHO.

Workmanship has slipped on so many items over the years it's nice to see old time craftsmanship on ANYTHING.

Tried lot's of cans and NoSpill makes the best. The nozzles are hardy and really do not leak. You can turn the can upside down right over your fill hole and press the nozzle button, dumping the fuel in. Gas and diesel cans, CARB compliant. My first can didn't have a locking ring or fill button protector, like the new ones have, but both can be removed. Actually I like the button protector but the locking ring can be a pain. These cans used to have lifetime warranties but the website says they have 5 year warranties now. Regardless, the last one I bought still says it has a lifetime warranty. Great plastic cans available at their own site or from retailers.

LOL I didn't want to 'quote' your entire post, but I know what you're talking about. I'm even more of a rebel; I actually use all red WEDCO cans no matter if I need it for gas or diesel. If you see no more posts from me, you'll know the gas can police came and took me away.

You guys look at things the wrong way!!! As you get older anger will give away to; "Why would I expect things to be easy and go right?? In fact, if things are going real good for some time, I have found some greater power is saving up to give me a big zap. So when the gas can leaks, the battery is dead and it rains on picnic day I relax; Things are normal.

The best gas cans I have ever found are the German-design where lid held closed with claw and pin locking system. They are not CARB compliant, so may not do you any good.

I have been this thread to find what is carb compliant? Can't find it. What is it?

I have been fed up with gas cans for a while. I have been thinking that a nice little pump might make it a lot easier to deal with those 11 -- 5 gal plastic cans I have. I'd need a pump that pumps gas and diesel. I guess battery operated pump might be better, however batteries are another pain. So electric pump might be better if it's safe. In addition, a 20 - 25 gallon fuel container might be better. Of course the darn thing would weigh a couple hundred lbs. So, maybe thats a bad shot? Does anyone have ideas? At this point I smell like a fuell tank as I have just loaded 4.5 gallons of fuel in the tractor and spilled about 1/2 gallon on me and the ground.

Now that I have my can ideas off of my mind I think I'll jump in the shower and get this fuel off my body.

Cheers....Coffeeman

Coffeeman, may want to try a gizmo called "Super Siphon" so you do not have to do the balancing act. A bit overpriced for what materials involved, but darn sure works great! I use one to fuel my Jeep and Mule. Here is a link to them on Amazon:
