There is a local flea market where a dealer sells seconds (with cosmetic blemishes) at 2 pair for $15.00 which is a bargain. They have held up well for me.

The tight fit allows you to have dexterity and the urethane gives some protection. For heavy work the Stihl landscapper or work gloves are well made and comfortable, but expensive.
