Comparison who makes the best tractor for the money

Not sure there is a best brand. Most are good. Most are competitive on price. I guess you might pay a bit more for orange and green but you get a lot of dealer support and parts availability. I have been on this site for a while and I can say that there are members who own all different brands and most are happy. It is a good situation.

Just my 2 cents worth, been running Zetor tractors for over 10 years. Run a Major 80 open station and Forterra 10741. Very fuel efficient tracts and their lifting capacity is one of the greatest. They are a heavy tractor, so moving hay, I do not have to worry about them tipping over. I use to Forterra to the a John Deere 469 baler and the Major 80 to run a SaMaSZ 6'11" drum mower, as a rake tractor and for moving 4X5 Round Bales.

Im in the market, tractors are expensive, Im getting ready to spend ( in my opinion still ) ALOT of money on a Kubota, Im considering the Kubota cause I have one already and its been a great tractor but Ive never owned any other brand.

I also like orange VERY much.

I also like old Mopars and old Fords but wouldnt consider a Chevrolet unless I was getting a screaming deal......why?.....I dont know, its just because.

So is there a way to leave out all the emotions and decide on what the best tractor is for the money?

Im talking major brands that are most likely gonna still be here in 10-20 years.....A kioti for instance might not make the cut for this discussion since they may not be quite tried and true....no offense to Kioti guys

Id just like to make the wisest decision.

Im looking for a no frills tractor, I have 5 acres, Im working on developing the land for a future residential home and this includes moving dirt/materials, whatever stump removal I can accomplish ect ect

Thanks

I bought a new Case Farmall 35 Hydro in 2010. It now has around 700 hours. I use it to mow three acres, as well as, to do heavy projects which include clearing 70 pines and pushing a lot of dirt/fill. It supports a 66 Rototiller, 12 post hole digger, belly deck, rear blade and front end loader. So far this thing is a beast. I change oil, oil filter, hydraulic filters, air and fuel filters often! It gets greased regularly, and I add Lucas fuel injector lube with each fill up. I changed my hydraulic fluid at 300 hours, and I am about to change it again. I have no regrets!!! (Knocking on wood!!!

I'm by no means an experienced tractor owner (100 hours or so on a B2601 Kubota), but I have bought "a few" fairly expensive and complicated devices of one sort or another in my life. After sales parts and service is what makes the difference. You can buy a Mercedes convertible (I have) and if there is no dealer or other parts support, the first time anything breaks, you have a fancy lawn ornament. Same for airplanes, boats, expensive watches, you get the idea. Dear Bride has a Subaru, the dealer is a waste of time and money, so I'm doing the service myself. The car isn't bad, but we won't be buying another one because the dealer wants us to finance his yacht/mortgage payment/alimony payment with each oil change.

I don't know, and am certainly not qualified to say "Kubota is the best!", but it seems to do what I need it to in an adequate fashion. Are there better machines? Probably. Worse machines? Probably. To date, the dealer has addressed all of the minor issues I've had, so I'm content with the purchase.

I'm a tad nervous about Deere because I hear the newer ones require dealer-only software to service, and I decline to buy something that I am locked out of and cannot work on myself if I need to. I don't know if this is ALL JD products or only the bigger ones, but in the interim, I'm happy with the Kubota.

What makes you think Kioti won't be here in the next 20 years. Been here a heck of a lot longer than that already. You did say you like orange didn't you? Well?

Basically anyone that ask the question "who makes the best tractor" should buy a Kubota.

I think you're unhappy with the wrong guy ;-)

I didn't say anything about Kioti. In fact, I looked at one but the dealer is almost 100 miles away and struck me as not particularly knowledgeable beyond knowing the list price. The Kubota dealer is 18 miles away, and I'm in that area every couple of weeks anyway, so the Kubota seemed to be the "best fit" for me.

The best (tractor/airplane/car/spouse) is the one you're happiest with - that's why they paint tractors orange, blue, red, green/yellow, grey, whatever. (Don't try to paint your spouse, I hear they get cranky if you try to.)

With best regards,
