Snow Blade Who needs a tractor ?

Looks like a lot of fun - beats the normal radio control toys.

But as a pedantic sod and electronics tech, I wonder what is meant by "600 amps of power". (power is watts = amps x volts)

weedpharma

probably has a(Powerful)600 amp car battery is what was probably meant, the gearing would have to be taken into consideration to figure out the power or torque. I'm sure the many servos it may have will drain the battery quickly,
I would think have been built with a series of batteries to drive the motor and a single dedicated battery to operate the servos,
Like an electric Golf cart with the batteries connected in parallel series to create more amps.
BTW- I did notice at the very end of the Vid the device ran into the mound of snow and stop dead still leading me to believe there is no way that thing could have climb and push that snow up like that.;) watch it again at the end and you'll see :D

Neat toy!

I noticed that recently Bobcat had added remote controls for its skid loaders!

A remote-control model all-terrain truck would work better for the cat...or maybe a remotely triggered bungee catapult to send him/her back into the neighbour's yard via airmail (Google "squirrel catapult" to see what I mean)?
BOB

both options could be fun but if your serious about the job build an RC airplane the fires estees rockets with explosive tips like I did.

BTW iif you decide to do this be sure to flame proof the wing where you hang the rockets. The Beta version went up in flames after the first test fire.

I think the machine is neat and everything, but I'd MUCH rather have my tractor.

Ha ha ha. That looks like a fun project and toy. Neat.

very neat! With all the engineering they went through, I wonder why they didn't mount a blower instead of plow?

Probably to conserve battery power.

I would like one.

I won't even ask for a seat, seat time in an open station in the middle of winter is over rated.

At the end of the video, he rammed the snow pile with the blade down.

Shoveling snow doesn't cause heart attacks, poor diet, smoking, stress (like I can control that) and not exercising the rest of the year causes heart attacks. Of course, bad luck with genetics can raise the likelihood for some people to have a heart attack, despite their efforts to prevent them.

There is something special about shoveling snow that causes more heart attacks that other forms of physical activity.

The theory is that the exercise increases cardiac output, at the same time, the cold causes vasoconstriction. The combination dramatically increases blood pressure triggering the heart attack.

Other factors may be:
Shoveling is usually done in the morning when heart attacks are more common.
Shoveling is usually done in a winter coat, which leads to sweating during a time of year the body is not adapted to sweating which leads to electrolyte imbalances.
People of advanced age tend to continue shoveling despite giving up other demanding activities.

Great.
Some genius just figured out how to outsource my seat time to Bangaloor.
Thanks.
