Who rides motorcycles?

About my old DR650, every time the carb was taken apart there was gunk in the main jet. I never had the patience to get the carb out from between the boots so after the first time I let my independent motorcycle mechanic friend work on it. He said it happens quite often. He's an honest dude so I know he wasn't taking me for a ride. I know one time he just did it for free since it just took him a couple minutes to get the carb out.

No, he didn't post it.

So a few buddies pulled this guy out of a ditch after he had a low side. He came by our camp at the resort to get some help with repairs. He offered to show us the gopro footage. After we watched about 2 minutes we were all appalled. He didn't want us to save it but after we told him we saved him like 400 dollars in towing he reluctantly agreed. This is some of the worst riding ive ever seen. Crash is around 8:50 but i encourage you to watch the whole thing... Just keep in mind, you may be riding at the top of your game but there's always some idiot barreling towards you at 50 mph out of control ready to take you out...enjoy...

When I was a new track day rider, dudes on liter sport bikes were annoying as ****. In the Novice group you are only allowed to pass in certain sections. These guys would blast down the straightaway, then park the bikes in every corner.

If they enjoyed track day riding most of them would dump the liter bike for a 600, as the tracks around here reward cornering and braking over straight line speed. On some of the longer tracks (usually outside the snow belt!) they can run at top speed for 10-15 seconds so there's more of a delta.

I hit 131 on my Tiger at NJMP, 145 on a BMW S1000RR, the good guys on S1000's were hitting 150-160, and the pros hit 190. Amazing.

Started out at age 10 with a Bridgestone S50. Worked my way through the usual suspects in the late 60's - early 70's. Had a Kawasaki H1 in high school.
(my parents were somewhat lenient) Bought a new Norton 850 Commando for $1700 back in late '74 while in the USN. Have a Triumph 500 bought in '77.
Rode HD and Guzzis now on another HD.

Garand, whew, that old boy shouldn't be riding. He ain't right. I call that kind of riding plumb stupid.

And, y'all boys know this - but you cannot be careful enough!! Just two weeks ago, a local builder, wealthy man (has nothing to do with this, but still...), been riding many years, was killed on the road less than 1/4 mile from his driveway. 59 years old. A woman (don't reckon that has much to do with it either, but...) ran a stop sign and hit him. Very sad. All I can think is it must have been his time, or that's why it's called "accident." Shouldn't have happened, but accidents happen. Be careful boys, very careful watching out for the "others" out there.
