Who rides motorcycles?

Last Sun I took a break from knocking down snow piles and went for a ride.


I thought about all of ya that day ..

I need to reduce my fleet a bit an 84 and 85 Yamaha Ventures should go,

Nice, fellas. I'm reducing my "fleet" as well. Getting rid of the '84 'Oldwing and looking for a newer one. Had a lot of great miles on that bike, but it's just getting too costly to maintain anymore.

Rider here, both bikes (being chased by dogs) and motorcycles (dodging idiots). Harley VRod, just because I hate to fit in anywhere. Harley riders hate it, and import riders hate all Harleys.

At Kanab Point in Grand Canyon National Park. Me with the Yamaha (blue). Park Ranger was on the Honda (red), his patrol bike. The two LEDs above the headlight on his Honda are blue/red strobes. Guy was a great guide!

Just bought my wife a 2016 Honda CB500F ABS.What a nice little bike! Installing
grip heaters, 12V plug, center stand, and Puig windshield this week.

Is that common now for new street bikes to have no center stand? I recently sold my last project
bike, a 2007 Kymco Venox 250 V-twin cruiser, and it had no center stand. (!)

I suggested this years ago with my Wife, and she said no. She used to ride a little Indian dirt bike when she was growing up, but has never had any desire to ride on the street. She said she's perfectly content to sit on the back of the Goldwing and let me do the work. I'm OK with that, too.

I was happy to get out yesterday for a short 30 mile ride. Spring is here and if not for all the rain and all the hours I've been working, I'd have been riding several times already, but hey, it won't be long before I can routinely ride.

My wife rode dirt bikes also and has a Harley, We had two but she got hit buy a car , Still rides hers not as much I stay on the tractors now

Started out with Honda XL125 trail bike then graduated to a 250cc, decided I wanted to do some competition riding but didn't like the idea of being in front and falling off and have the field run over you so went for trials.
Got a Montessa Cota 247 which was a nice trials bike but suffered with terrible electrics that you could never find the problem with.
A local bike lover was aware of this problem with a lot of Euro bikes and he made after market changeover looms, that cured my problems.
Also had a Montessa King Scorpion which was pretty much the same platform but with different gears, a saddle and footpegs designed for sitting down, got a loom for that too, both were nice bikes but for entirely different purposes, no way could you do a ride on a trials bike unless you had a week to get to the street corner and back.
I gave up many years ago after too many close calls on the road and now I don't bounce anymore I just break.
My brother rides a Triumph Tiger, the big one and has had a lot of bikes long the road to his 61st birthday, this is his latest and before that he had touring bikes, he also had a Norton Commando which he hated, he said that for a 100 mile ride you needed a tool kit to re tighten everything as theyt vibrated so much and nothing has changed over the years.
