the square key on the engine shaft can be removed..

The square key goes through the pulley behind the clutch I thought it needs it to lock that pulley aswell to the shaft?
Its a long square key about 2 inches. Part of it sticks out to key into the clutch aswell. If I take it out won't it effect the pulley
behind the clutch? The one clutch I did have here had the square key welded in side to slide onto the shaft but I didn't think I should pull that key out from under the pulley in the back.

Radios seems to be correct. It isn't like the key is part of a clutch adapter. Cut the old key to lock the drive pulley. I've had to do that before on some Deere replacements. It also looks like service parts for the clutch are available from Toro, worth it or not I dunno. What is going on with the clutches that you replace so many?

Yes I guess if I cut the key so its flush with the pulley then the the clutch with the welded in would slide on. I had one here fromJThomas that was like that but
sent it back. It was cheaper in price then the OGURA its price was $213 which isn't bad. I didn't think about cutting the key off flush, I didn't want to screw something up.

Just would be nice to put one on that has the notch. The Extream Fatboys have a model that is suppose to replace a Orura M-GT-TROC model but
It seems to be to thick to fit between the frame and the shaft. Im not sure if some guys know a way to get them in there to slide on to the shaft.

I don't know why Im only getting around 4 years out of these clutches. Im thinking its the heat here in Florida. I only mow around the house 2 acres.
I thought they should last longer then that.

you don't need to cut the key, just get something underneath the end of it, and tap that in so the key lifts up, then you can remove it by hand.. btw, low voltage will also make the clutches wear out fast..

If I remove it then there is not a key for the drive pulley behind the clutch. The key goes through both of them.

Maybe someone has installed on of the Extreme Fatboys on the Toro Groundmaster 120 and knows how to get it to fit between the frame and the shaft.

Can you post a pic? What can you get at easily and loosen to get more clearance?

It a little hard to get a good picture of the area.

Maybe someone has a cheap used one so I can at do some mowing around the yard. Till I can find a new one.

Has anyone ever installed the Xtreme PTO that is suppose to replace the OGURA MA-GT-TROC Pto
I have on my Toro Groundmaster 120 model 30612 serial 890142

They say it will fit but the pulley looks wider and wonder if there is room to get it between the frame and the shaft it has to slide onto.

What I have now is the OGURA MA-GT-TROC and If you lay them flat on the ground I think the fatboy might be taller and make it hard to get it between the frame and the shaft.

Has anyone ever install one on the Toro Groundmaster 120 they don't give you lots of room to work with.

This one says it will replace the OEM PTO on the Groundmaster 120 and I wonder if it will fit behind the frame to get onto the shaft.

Well the Xtreme Fat boy clutch they said was the same as OEM is not and would not fit and had to send it back.

I have found another PTO that has the key in it already installed so I would have to cut the the key that sticks out like I talked about before. That might be the only way
Im going to be able to use these other clutches that are better priced and will fit in the space.
OGURA ELECTRIC PTO CLUTCH FOR FERRIS Replaces FERRIS: 1717664, 172532 34761157833 | eBay This one has the key already in it.

Says it will replace the 54-0220 PTO but I would have to take the Key off the shaft and cut it so its flush with the edge of the
drive pulley looks like. I guess that would work. I guess people have to do stuff like that to use some of these new clutches.

I guess some might not have the Key sticking out for the notch to slide over so they are making them with the key already on them to slide into the slot which might be easier to line up the key to the slot if you start from the front of the shaft.
