Who's a bigger idiot???

Re: Who\'s a bigger idiot???

Twenty-five years ago, when my wife and I were first married, I came home one day with a brand new hickory-handled woodsman's axe I found on sale. Problem was, we were living in an apartment at the time.

I still have the axe. It's far from new 25 years and four homes later. Sounds like you made a good decision to me. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

By the way, remember that you are always the biggest idiot whether you REALLY are or not. That's why I still have a wife to go with my axe.

Re: Who\'s a bigger idiot???

I asked for power tools as a half-joke for wedding presents when I was first married so as to balance out all the girly home-making type of stuff usually given as wedding presents. One smart-**** friend gave us a brand new top-of-the line Union-brand spade shovel.

Problem was, we were living in an apartment at the time - absolutely no use for most tools, much less a shovel - it sat in the hall closet.

That wife and the apartment are long gone.

20 years later, I still have that shovel.

Re: Who\'s a bigger idiot???

Keep the tractor complete as is. You could do side work as others have said and from my experience, you will use it when you find your ground to purchase. I will end up renting one this spring to dig out many stumps. Enjoy the seat time doing work with it.

Re: Who\'s a bigger idiot???

Neither.

At least for that reason. If you are sure you are going to buy property and you fouund a machine at a good price, just a little early, that is a good thing.

Now if you are just tire kicking on the land, then both /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

PS. Dont sell the hoe. In fact if you are close to western PA, I have a few places that you can hone your skills with it while you are waiting for land /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Who\'s a bigger idiot???

I am very excited about taking delivery on this tractor next weekend. Supposed to go down to charleston to inspect it and finalize the deal. At the same time, I have an offer on 78 acres down there in the Ripley Spencer area. If I can leave it down there with a new neighbor, then I can use it on that land right away. I'm getting close.

Re: Who\'s a bigger idiot???

NEITHER OF YOU ARE MENTALLY DERANGED /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif if you really got an excellent buy, the only question is, being you don;t have your land yet, the tractor could end up being to large or too small. keep the BH till u find out if you need it or not, but from what you say, i think u will use it. IF YOU need a place to store it i have a few garages and would be more than happy to store it for you /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif i will even keep it cleaed up and make sure the BH works properly /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

( I'd say neither... yet.

I don't need the backhoe but figure I can sell it

Now if you do this, it's a different story...

Seriously, if you get the tractor hang on to the hoe at least until you get the property. Depending on the land you may be surprised at how handy it will be /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif )

I wouldn't trade my BH for every shovel I've ever had my hands on.
