Kubota B7800
I've a Kubota B7800 and never owned or operated any other tractor.

In maneuvering the tractor recently to disassemble and (later) reassemble my Dirty Hands Brand Log Splitter (lifting of the heavy cylinder (w/o detaching the hydraulic hoses), then lifting off the I-Beam Splitter Post(?) and laying it in the bed of the Tacoma, there were a couple of times when I needed to set the brakes (Parking Brake Lever) where my foot slipped off teh two brake pedals and onto the Forward 'Go' Pedal right beneath the brake pedals.

"Geeze! I could have done some real damage to the cylinder or hoses or to my truck," I thought as I checked to see what (if anything) I might have done. Then "Who in Hell designed this system with the two disparate actuators in such close proximity and relative elevation."

Curious to hear if anyone has experienced something similar on a Kubota or other brand.

My previous Kubota L3410 was like that, and I didn't care for it at all. Newer models have the brakes moved over to the left.

My old B2410 had that same design. Clutch pedal was on the left but the brakes were directly above the forward pedal. They were split too so you could brake one side or the other. Dealer told me that was for going around tight corners but I’m like you guys and couldn’t really figure out how you could keep going forward and brake at the same time. In my case, I don’t think I ever used the brakes on that tractor. My newer B2650 doesn’t have a clutch so they have moved the brakes back to the left side so you can manipulate both at the same time if you have to.

Wasn't that split brake turning called the "Kubota shuffle"?

How you going to work a clutch and brake both with left foot if it was on that side?

The clutch pedal has been eliminated on hydro models.
Only needed for PTO operation.
Independent PTO solves that problem.

This mostly applies to older tractors before power steering became popular. On those, it was common to work the left and right steering brakes to help it steer but we didn't use the clutch at the same time. Yes, stopping was still a problem.

But I agree about the problem of having the brakes on the wrong side - and that problem is if the tractor has a clutch, there are two wrong sides. The designer can't win.

One solution Kubota tried is to have enough room between seat and steering so that it's possible to swing a leg across.
There has to be better ways to do that.

Not just Kubota, my New Holland is set up the same way. Never had a use for the brake pedal other than setting the parking brake

I use the wheel brakes constantly to make small steering adjustments when pushing snow.

If I have to lean on one or the other wheel brake to keep to a straight line when pulling a plow or blade in dirt or snow , it's time to get off and make some adjustments to the implement.

Otherwise I only use the wheel brakes when I want to turn sharply at the end of a furrow. They will turn twice as sharply as power steering will.

I rarely use the parking brake, usually just lower the implement.
