Why are manuals not available for free download?

Haven't read the whole thread.... Deer DOES provide an owner manual with their products. It's also available for free download too.
Comprehensive Service manuals are available for a cost.

Guilty as charged (i.e,. I haven't read the whole thread yet). But re: an OWNER's manual, my used Kubota came with an Owner's manual--for the tractor and every implement. It did not come with a SHOP manual, so I paid Messick's about $100. for (a paper copy). My gripe is that I do not have a .pdf copy of the SHOP manual, which would make searching for specific items easier, as I could use specific search terms on the computer.

I should point out, that while scanned PDF files are okay, a true READ ONLY PDF is much better, as it allows you do do full word searches and gives a decent index of where each search find is found, by page nbr. And all those search finds are linked directly to the find page. Click to link to the page, versus having to scroll hundreds of pages. I was able to download READ ONLY PDF files for my 2015 van and my 2019 SUV. They supplement my print copies, but I use the READ ONLY PDF files more often.

I should add, that the page numbers, seen in the results to the right, are links as well, and clicking on page 634 will take me to that page as well
