Why B-7400

I was reading a post where a poster mentioned the seldom seen B-7400. I visited 5 Kubota dealers before purchasing my B-7500, and not one had a B-7400 on the lot. This is not meant to offend any 7400 owners, I was just wondering why Kubota offers the model, does not seem at all popular amist the small compacts (BX 2200, B 7500, and the B 2410).

Thats a question I'd like to hear the answer to as well. I have a B7300, which is bigger than the BX but has less horsepower than the B7500. No power steering, either. My guess is that the B7400 is the replacement for the B7300 (which they don't make any more), but I'm not sure.

I have never seen one either except in brochures, less weight than the BX, smaller engine displacement and horsepower than the BX, less hydrualic output than the BX--but it has a bigger loader, maybe more seating room and can use a backhoe but now there is the BX22TLB. I think the 7400 will be going away, no power steering would be the killer for me, a time for everything and it's time is past.

I think you will find that the power steering has a lot to do w/the B7300 & B7400 fading out.

The BX models can handle anything that the B7300 & B7400 were design to do but w/more comfort.

Correct you are...

Power steering is big these days... greatly reduces the tired arms after hours and hours of use... especially with a loaded bucket, the power steering is smoooooth and if you're going to put down B7400-type money, why not spring for the B7500 with power steering and more HP? The difference is easily justified IMO.
