The other day, I was removing the LA240 bucket from my BX24's FEL (I'm having some welding done and I thought it would be easier to transport the bucket as opposed to the whole tractor or FEL). While removing the bucket, I noticed that there are pins that, possibly could be switched to quick release pins of some sort. Now, I'm not a welder and I'm not even that mechanical but couldn't someone (like BXpanded) fabricate a light but strong quick attach mechanism or other attachments that could use the same bolts?
ATI attempted to make and remake one and apparently it failed enough times for ATI to stop making them. I managed to get my hands on one and rig it for my BX24 with a bit of grinding and filing. I have had it on the BX for about 6 months and have not seen any stress fractures. See the post Zick referenced for pictures
