Why do metric sockets come in 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" drive?

Ha ha... for all those that think the Chinese can't build quality. Don't underestimate them. They build a lot of crap but that is what Americans like... cheap crap.

Ditto. The Chinese will build exactly to the specs the importer wishes. Is not "Made In China" that indicates quality, it is the importer.

No one builds a better iPhone than the Chinese. Yet. Apple demands quality and gets it.

I have an Autel Robotics Drone, made in China, very good quality.

I've always said, it's our own American companies that "stick" us with Chinese junk to improve their bottom line.....

Yep, and they get every single secret that goes into everything that’s built in China, too.
Not sure that’s a great idea.

Why should metric be loose?

My comment on reusing metric bolts and nuts tend to not stay tightened. I use air wrench and American standard threads seldom over-tighten a bolt. metric bolts will spin on nuts or tapped or thread into flat metal.
Know will be remarks of the wrong setting of the wrench or to much air pressure. but when rebuilding and mix of American and metric bolt close to the same size who wants to be resetting the settings of the wrench.

Same steel quality on the bolts?

The speed limit signs are much higher in Metric. That's why I like driving in Canada :)

Oh yeah, I have a Toyota MR2 that was a US car so it's in MPH while Canada is metric.
I had to add a red mark at the translated speed limits for quick reference.
Fun car!

Canada is supposedly all metric.
BUT all plywood and particle board is SAE sized (4 X 8) while man made finishing stock is metric.

LOL but then a 2 x 4 is never a real 2" X 4" anymore.

What are you talking about? Sheets of plywood are 1219mm by 2438mm. It says so right on them.
