Dealer Why do NE dealers not recommend block heaters?

I purchased my L4610 in 2001 from Dave Handy at Sharon Springs Garage in Central NY. We sat down and went over each available option and I selected the block heater at that time since compared to the cost of the tractor, it was a relatively low cost option. Dave accepted the options I selected without any argument. I keep the tractor garaged so have not used the heater yet (but there have been a couple of cold days this year that starting would have been easier had I used it, I think). Anyway I would definitely recommend Dave Handy as he was excellent at the sale and has been great with service and support since then.

I bought a block heater from our local southern New Hampshire dealer and nobody from the dealership including the mechanics could tell me how or where to install it. I guess that says it all.... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I got mine from Chappell in Milford NH. They actually had several in stock. Installation instructions, although not the greatest, were included in the kit.
