Why does everyone rant and rave about the EcoBoost?

We have a Transit with 3.5 Ecoboost (axle is 3.31 LSD). The joke on the Transit forums is "Eco, or Boost - pick one."

Towed 5200 lbs last week with ease.

Non-Limited Slip Axle Ratio 3.55 per the dealer...

Found a clean 2011 with 60,000 miles and a 5.0 V8

We were set on the Eco but now may just go with the used 2011... owned by a retired guy.

I expect it will not tow 10k as well as a 2015 Eco 6?

It says 11,300 towing...

Just not sure if I would miss the torque of the eco???

It's about 22K cheaper than new... also does not have the aluminum body?

Used 2011 Ford F-150 King Ranch 4D SuperCrew $32,995 - VIN: 1FTFW1EF4BKD37998 - Matchmaker 4.1

Non-Limited Slip Axle Ratio 3.55 per the dealer...

That truck is only rated to tow 7,700 lbs, not 11,300. Max tow was only available with the EB and 6.2 liter motors. Mine I ordered with max tow and it came with the large mirrors, heavier built hitch, and 3.73 rear.

I just used the FordETIS link above with that VIN. It says 3.73 electronic locking differential. Look up the tow rating for the truck as equipped. I bet it will be north of 10k.

It says 3.73 right in the add.

You guys are great... appreciate all the comments...

All the info I posted was from the Dealer Ad which I am always suspect... this is where the axle ratio and tow capacity is listed...

Checked it out real good last night...

Little rough at cold start for the first minute which came as a surprise... then smoothed out.

Had two owners... it was a lease and then owned by a tile contractor and the bed liner has many holes with bits of tile and sand under the liner...

It definitely has seen some time earning it's keep...

Per the Dealer it was traded in on a brand new GMC 2500...

I like the GMC myself and have had great service from my two Chevrolets...

The King Ranch is my brother's idea... he spends a lot of time on jobsites and business meetings...

Looks like he will pass on this one since he keeps a vehicle 10 years or longer and business use part would be a write off...

Still takes me back to see the MSRP of pickups he is looking at in the $50,000 to $70,000 range...

Again heavy towing is what his current vehicle lacks and tongue load is the weak link...

Last month he rented a medium size chipper and couldn't hitch up with his current vehicle as the receiver is well under the bumper... there are long draw bar options and the manufacturer said not to use and the tongue weight limit probably due to the air bag suspension on the Range Rover...

A GMC Sierra SLE 4x4 double can with the max towing package stickers out for under 40,000 or so Canadian. Probably thousands cheaper in the USA .

The TBN Ford 'salesmen' rant and rave here. I guess if you call that everyone. 🙄
Around here I see 2 Silverados for every Ram, and 2 Rams for every F150. Go figure.
