Why does my loader only raise after switching work ports on a 2 spool valve?

Look up this link. It says that the loader is a floater and the bucket curl is a regenerative spool. If so, if you have the regen lines backwards you will probably get the trouble you are having, as a regen circuit takes oil from the retracting side and dumps it back into the extend side so that if you had the lines backwards it would probably tend to lock up the cylinders.
