why is a mid pto not avail on a tc45

The dealer didn't have a real good explanation why it was an option on the tc 40 but not the 45. He did state some of the early 45s came setup internally for a mid mount. It appears to be the same identical tractor with 5 more hp. I was informed you could buy all the parts for a conversion but I bet it would be pricey, and time consuming for the installation. I have a 6' woods mower that would be a good candidate for the install. I guess a drop shaft from the rear pto with a couple bearings would be a cost effective alternative. I was just curious why it wasn't available.

Joe, I get the impression it was a decision made to limit the number of standard internal components on the TC45D to hold the price down (and profit up). /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif I would guess that only 10% or less purchasers of the TC45D would opt for a mid-mount. However, I think enough people have asked for mid PTO that it's now available on the new TC45DAs. At least I think I read that as an option, but I could be wrong. Maybe someone who knows for sure will post and verify this for me/you. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I love this forum, ask and someone knows or has prior experience. Now..... if only my service advisor or new holland customer service could give straight answers in place of I will get back to you I would be definately a happy consumer. Once again you are correct, the TC45 was not available with mid pto, enough people wanted it and it is now available on all class three models.
