of the block or better described as nearest the firewall and under the AC and heater lines always the doggone hardest to turn? Changed out the plugs on my old 350 this afternoon, replaced 7 in 15 minutes abd the 8th in another 90 minutes turning 1/4 turn in and out and soaking with WD40. Had the same issue with the last 350 on plug day, maybe has something to do with cooling on that corner? At the back of the exhaust manifold? Usually change plugs about every 25k but plan to shorten to 15k next time. Afraid the threads in the head can't take another round of punishment like today.

No skips with old plugs, Bosch Platinum 2's, was very surprised to see 7 in good condition and one (second from firewall right side) that had all but self destructed, one electrode gone, insulator cracked, other electrode caked with carbon. Obviously something different going on with this cylinder. Any thoughts?

What year? They never really put actual fuel injection on the 350 until 96 but the same block was in service from the 50s through 99. My 98 has been great. All plugs go in very well but I am carefuul to use antiseize on the threads each time and dielectric on the plug ends so that the boots don't stick.

My personal bugger is the 2nd from the back on the brake booster side. It sits beside the steering column and I need to use a swivel joint on the wrench.

I too use Bosch platinums plugs and have been happy with them especially considering they cost about 1/4 of what the stock AC platinums do.

Is not that the plug that required the motor to be lifted on some of cars of a few years back?

One little trick I've learned through the years is to look for an unconventional approach to a problem. In this case with the hiding spark plugs I've found it way easier on some vehicles to take one of the front wheels off and go through the fender well. In one vehicle I've owned I even found that the manufacturer had an access port in the fender well that could be removed.

Maybe it will work for you. Good luck with it.
