Why is this hard? Hydraulic sizing frustration

The shepherd's hook looking thing? That isn't a lever, that is at the tank breather with a loop to prevent rain from getting in. It does look like something you'd pull but it you take a second look it is held on with a hose clamp and although painted, it is made out of a soft, rubbery material.

In #4 right above the vent. It looks like a spool with maybe a U bracket with a pin going thru it. What is that for?

That is the first to three cable actuated spool valves. A detent can be screwed into the large, silver plug's hole. The first two you can do not have detents and the last one, off camera on top has a detent for continous flow. Kioti officially list only two spool for remotes but three will fit and work with longer bolts thanks to Fastenall.
