Why No Round Posts Batteries for Lawn Tractors

I have been getting at least 5 up to 8 years out of the JD batteries. just sayin....
The gator gets the most "starts" with 6 grandkids growing up (now driving less as they are in college or older) and the first replacement battery still starts strong. Bought the 4x2 gator in 1998. Would have to look up how long for the first battery, but thinking it was 10 - 11 years IIRC. Hardly a day goes by that I don't run the gator around the 22 acres with lots of starts between all the stops. But then, everything about the gator impresses me for performance.

Would have thought that the simplest method would be to just call a few local parts houses and price out a group 45 battery. For the best price ask for non-anchored element style battery they are usually on the lower side of the pricing. Not an unusual battery by any means just probably not that common at sears or wal-mart.

The Group 45 is too tall and too long.
