2007 Kubota BX24
Hi,
I have a BX24 and never thought I needed them before, but a guy was looking at the tractor and asked why there was no rubber on the backhoe stabilizers. I know I had seen them on bigger units doing street work, but never really thought about it for what I do. Is there any advantages to having them or not having them? If having them is a good thing, does Kubota sell them or does anyone know where to get them? thanks, in advance.

I am pretty sure Kubota has them available for the BX24. I am not sure what advantage they give other that mabye better grip on paved or concrete surfaces. I am sure someone more expereinced can comment on their usefullness.

The larger machines have the bumpers so the regular pads do not damage the pavement.:D :D

I think you're better off for regular yard work w/o the rubber. If you were working on asphalt it would be better with the rubber.

I know the rubber "street pads" are available as an option from Kubota on all the backhoes from the BH65 on up. Not certain about the BX24 hoe, but I'm pretty sure that is a Kubota option on that one too. Call a Kubota parts dept and ask them for a price.

They're only necessary if you do a lot of work where one or both stabilizers need to be on blacktop or concrete.

On the L48 they are standard, and what is nice is that they flip over for street work with the rubber pads, and flip back for dirt areas with the metal cleats. I specifically only use the rubber as it is more convienent and has less ground pressure as well.

I had a set of rubber pads for my BX23 but never needed to use them.
For dirt work the metal pads worked good. I would expect rubber pads to be available for the BX24 as well.

My JD 110 TLB has the the same thing, flip one way for rubber the other for steel.

I always flip mine over to the steel side when using the backhoe in dirt. The reason is I looked at the price of replacement rubber pads.

I don't know what the Kubota price is for replacement pads, but you may want to check.

I made my own. I cut two pads out of an old tire, used 2x8 as backer, bolted them onto the steel pads.

BX9468 is the number for the BX24 backhoe pads...no idea what they cost, I don't need them.
