( Dave,

How about the new Toyota FJ Cruiser, with styling based on the original Land Cruiser, but built on the 4Runner chassis? )

They had a few of those in Moab this year, my wife got to drive one off road and really liked it. Anybody with a drivers license could test drive it on the rocks. Pretty capable, but in need of about a 3 inch lift for that kind of stuff.

In high school, one of the rich kids bought a 67 Chevelle SS with the 396 / 4 speed.

Major DROOOOOOOOOOOOL to me still. I might have to look for that one also.............

CNN had a short story on the H1 going out of production. They stated that high gas prices are to blame.
I think that is pure speculation! I doubt that people that can affort a $118,000 vehicle are easily scared off buy fuel prices. The H2 directly competes with the H1 in the luxury SUV segment and it is much more refined. Could that erode H1 sales? There are alot more choices now in the large SUV segment than when the Hummer H1 was originally introduced. Is that a factor? Could it be something as simple as our taste in vehicles is changing? I guess that I'm just a little irritated when I hear news organizations making up stories.

I think the situation is that the 500 or so people a year who actually want one, bought it! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Anyway, I'm all for wretched excess, it's what made this country great, isn't it? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
