The hitch geometry is different also. The higher category hitches are made for higher hitch heights along with wider lateral and vertical spacing between the points. Bigger loads need bigger pins.
It was an excellent evolution. Implements were categorized by the loads they impose on the tractor and hitches were designed accordingly. If an implement is cat1, it will fit your cat1 tractor and not be too heavy for your CUT to pick it up.
