Tires Wider Frront Tires on BX2200?

I picked up some new front tires (bar style) for the BX and when I got home I noticed they were 1" wider than the tires that were on it (18X9.50X8 vs 18X8.50X8). Does anyone see a problem with running the wider tire?

The diameter of the tires is the same so it won't cause a problem with binding when in 4WD, the only problem might be with clearance when turning sharp with the MMM, if I remember correctly mine are close, but I don't think they are close enough that 1/2 inch on the width on each side of the tire will matter, of course some tires measurements do not actually match the numbers printed on the sidewall. If you have bar tires on now, I would just check the clerance they have with the wheels in all directions and if there looks to be clearance, do it.

I've looked at those tires too and the ones I saw were actually taller even though the tire height was suppose to be 18". Might want to check with the manufactures web site and get actual height and compare them to the stock height numbers or just put them along side your other ones and see if they are actually the same height.

well...thanks for the input. I'm not opposed to rolling the dice once in a while; so, I mounted them up. The MMM looks to have clearance (barely) and the diameter is just slightly larger than the OE (at 12psi). Thanks for the input!


Jeez those little rims are a Pain in the arse to work with.
