Width of ROP?

Hello All,

I took the plunge and will be picking up my CK 30 with FEL, backhoe, and "york" rake next week. I am planning on putting some extra lighting on the ROP bar.

I don't want to drill into the bar, so I am trying to find out the dimensions of the bar at the horizontal section above the seat. (width and height)

First, welcome to the pack.
The 30 is a great machine.

My ROPS (2004 model) is:

29" Usable (horizontal area) on top-

About 60" tall from tractor -17" for back of seat= 43" above the back of the seat.

Are you asking qhat size square U-bolts are needed to fit around it ?
I don't know, I'm just trying to help clarify your question.
I found it convenient to use square U-bolts to mount 5ft lengths of punched hole angle, then mounted everything to that.
You can go wider if you like, but 6ft would REALLY start hitting things around here.

I have the angle iron and lights, I'm trying to find the correct size "square" u-bolts.

These are pics of the lights on my 2008 CK35. The ROPS is 2" X 3"
I put the bolts at about 4 spacing for clamping.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for the pictures. Those are the dimensions I was looking for. I will be adding lights in a similar fashion, but using square u-bots to fasten the mounting beams.

Once I get the tractor and the lights mounted, I'll take and post some pix.

Nice job, nice pics too.
I did it the other way, I didn't want the lights "inside" where I figured I would be bashing my head against then, especially on the right hand side when I am doing whatever I do with my head over my shoulder.
So the 5 ft strips of pre-punched angle gave me all the flexibility I needed and got them AWAY from my head.
Sure, they're more vulnerable out there, but I'm LESS vulnerable IN HERE (-:

Reg, I am 6 ft 2 inches. There is lots of room, not a problem ever hitting my head.
With the lights underneath the ROPS I can go into my portable garage without lowering the ROPS. Plus if I go into the trees they won’t get damage or knocked off.

I mounted my lights (3 x 5 trapezoids) to a piece of unistrut mounted INSIDE the ROPS cross bar using 3 x 5 square ubolts and a piece of flat steel that usually comes with the ubolts. Two facing front, and one facing the rear. As I recall, the unistrut was 20" long. Fits nicely without reaching into the curved corners of the ROPS. My head doesn't even come close to hitting the lights. I like them on the inside because they are better protected: lights, wiring, and hardware. They work great too!

One other thing is to pay attention to the hardware that comes with your lights. Mine didn't have gimbles. Looked everywhere for that kind of hardware. Finally gave up and made my own. Still hard to believe that sort of thing isn't readily available. I should post a photo or two of how it turned out.
