Here's a case and point.

I wanted a broadcast seed and fertalizer spreader. I priced them out and TSC had a decent unit. Small pyramid shaped hopper.. flexible shaft 'universal' pto adapter.. etc. Unit was 199 plus tax... Which was cheaper by a good margin than most of the cone-hopper types.. Not to mention this unit only weighs about 50# ( light duty-yes.. but works fine ).

We needed to fertalize, lime, and overseed out 3 ac pasture near the house, and fertalize and seed our freshly disc'ed 10 ac pasture. After one day of walking around with those little 19$ law-type broadcast spreaders on the 3 ac.. and just getting some of the peletized lime down.. the wife actually said.. "isn't there an easier way to do this?" To which i said.. well yes.. but it's about 2hundredsomething dollars and goes on the tractor. Why don't we get back to this.. In a few weeks worth of afternoons and weekends we'll be done!
Well.. the next day we got one of those spreaders!

Thanks for the advice. I need a new spreader and have been dropping subtle hints for almost a week now and getting no reaction what-so-ever.

Wife Acceptance Factor is a myth like Bigfoot. People always seem to know someone who knows someone that has seen it but there is no real proof. The nearest thing is WTF (Wife Tolerance Factor) /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

A lot of this translates into a "politically correct" situation. For every one that says that they need to get the CFO on-board for a purchase, there is another person that just makes the purchase and the wife sees it when it arrives. In all too many cases, it seems like things have gone from when the male ruled the nest, to both having an equal share, to today, where the female seems to rule the nest and not a single decision is made without here "advise and consent". To me, it seems that too many men are ***** footing around on tip toes just to please the "little woman", without any regard for their own self respect. Neither should dominate the other, but to read a lot of posts around here, if it were not for the woman the the men would be just lost, wandering around, with no direction in their lives. I just can't buy that! Get real, treat the woman as an equal and she should do the same. If you have to get her permission to do everything and anything, then you are not an equal. In these cases, she is but an extension of your mother.

anyhow what you said may be ture but it is still just part of the WTF> I might buy something and she might not say anything but that does not mean it passed the WAF just the WTF.
