Wife came home with a 2005 EZ GO TXT Golf Cart (Gas) with a lift kit. It is pretty nice, she is thinking it can be used to help with chores and barn work (horse barn). I had suggested a while back she needed a UTV (of course, I was planting a seed) and she said it was not such a bad idea. She came across this buy and it was as steal. Now we are thinking about how it might be used, what it is capable of (not 4WD like a UTV), and what can we do to make it useful and not just a toy to run around the property on. Any ideas?

Put a hitch on the front and back, very useful.

Don't underestimate the torque of a golf cart. A few years ago my buddy bought one(used/gas) for his 70 year old dad so he could still get around on his 300ac farm. A few months later he was visiting and his dad told him that one of the heifers(900lbs) died and he had to drag it across a 40 ac pasture to the tree line...."So Dad, how did you manage to get up on the tractor to do that?.....Tractor?...No son, I used that golf cart you got me"
The cow was at her final resting place and the golf cart suffered no ill effects.

Go to Buggiesunlimited.com and order some tractor lug tires for the cart. I put some on the wifes buggy and it made all the difference in the world for traction even in snow. I put on front and back for customized look. They are about $50 each with rim so it is just a take off, bolt on addition. Since you have it lifted, you may want to get custom sized tires for it while you are at it. Buggiesunlimited has everything for off road carting.

POST Script: Since wife rarely uses the cart now that she is no longer afraid of the RTV, I took the lugs off and put back on slicks and put one set on a gas cart I sold, put the other set on my ZTR lawnmower so it pulls out of the mud well also. The lugs sure kept me out of the tow business for a long while though. It seemed every time she went out after a rain, I had to go pull her out of the mud.

I have a gas AND an electric cart AND a Yamaha 4 wheeler. Gas is fastest speed, electric has more low speed torque and is best for winter use. The 4wheeler hasn't been started in 3 years as a result. I have trailer hitches (extended out 2 feet on both and have the folding rear seat on them. This is very useful for remote fence work, taking out the garbage, getting the mail, pulling a chipper and saw out to a problem area. I put a ladder carrier on the roof supports and headlights on mine. Even the dogs like to sit on the floor, just don't let them drive. Old Jake leaned on the go pedal and walloped my truck all by himself.
