Hey,
Just thought I would mention that you are not that far from the Great White North. With the exchange rate being what it is( about .63-- that is .63 US = $1.00 Canadian) you could possibly come out on the deal. Even after paying the high Canadian tax! On Agricultural machinery manufactured in the US or Canada, there is no duty, either. Don't know if CUT falls into that category, you would have to check with Customs to be sure. Just another avenue for you to try. Good luck!!

Sleepyhollow,I went the Canadian route (I live in WNY)when I purchased my 2002 Kioti DK40 this year.
I saved a bundle and beat our 8% sales tax.
The Toronto dealer was willing to deal on the phone and everything worked out,I can't speak for dealers of the other brands since this was my only tractor buying experience in Canada, although I have purchased other things up north.....Mike

SHollow, I wish I had a situation that would justify a loader but I have not happened upon one yet, but I am still hoping!

With me It was like when I got my first air compressor,a week later I couldn't imagine life without one.Now I wonder how I managed with one less than 80 gals.
I'm going through the same thing now with my new FEL....Mike

The dealer is hosing you on the price. Do the lights yourself and have the hooks welded on by a local welding shop. the lights have the prewiring in the tractor so its not a big deal. The SCV should only be about $500 at most and the R4s should be about $50 extra seeing they are keeping the other tires. I would ditch the ballast box and get an aftermarket box blade. I used to live in Ellington, Ct and had a 800 ' driveway so i know what its like to plow snow. I used to use a snow plow and snow blower. That's why we live in NC now on the coast..I would keep the HST, you'll be glad you did. Try some dealers in NH or VT or west of you. It might be worth the drive to save a few k...Good luck..let us know how you made out.

Hi Folks,

We did the deal and I am happy with the price (so is the wife). Got everything I wanted. Now comes the hard part... waiting for delivery :(

I should take delivery in another 2-3 weeks. Thanks to all of you who brought perspective to the process. I can't wait to share some photo's with you guys and gals. I've got a number of projects small and large and now that I will have the 4310, that just means more good conversation on TBN. Thanks All,
Sleepyhollow

Do what I did. My wife said the same thing, except only $20,000. I found it easier to negotiate with her instead of the dealer. Got a 4310 w/loader and 4 in 1 bucket and rotary cutter for about $24,000.

JN4310,

I'm glad my wife set a limit, it actually gave me more leverage when it came time to bargin - especially when she was holding the checkbook in sight of the salesman.

Another thing I feel made a huge difference is that I had considerable interaction with the dealer over the past year and a half. I was on a first name basis with several of the dealer folks and I think they felt as though they had a lot of time invested in "selling me".

Had I just walked in off the street, I don't think they would have budged. I guess face time is important. That's certainly one lesson I took out of this whole thing. BTW, do you have any photos of your 4310 posted? I'd love to see them as I am anxiously awaiting mine to be delivered. Thanks,
Sleepyhollow
