So, the wife went out to bush hog a pasture that we just expanded.

She comes back way too early.

I ask--Problem with the Tractor?

Wife: Yes, kinda. It is stuck.

Me (thinking we have had no real rain in 6 weeks): Stuck? Where? Will we need the truck to pull it out?

Wife: No--just a chainsaw. I got it stuck in a tree.

So I got my hat, saw and camera.

As you can see, the shade shade and a mesquite tree had a meeting and the mesquite tree won.

It was a good stuck. I ended up have to cut the mesquite tree up into pieces to get it off the tractor.

I cannot ride my wife too hard on this...I have had some interesting encounters with with the sun shade and guide wires, tree limbs etc and I am very glad she is okay.

Her only comment as I was taking pictures was "You are going to put this on "the old fart's network', aren't you?" "Old Farts Network" is her term of endearment for TBN:laughing::laughing::laughing:

Your lucky... my wife has never driven my tractor.

I usually run my hot-wires over the top of gates, up high on a pole yet I still forget and hit them with the bucket or load on occasion. It is easy to forget to look up, so she can't be blamed. Lucky you that she is out there on the bush hog.

Mesquite trees are tough, I am glad your wife didn't get hurt.

I'm glad that everything worked out positive and your Wife wasn't injured. BTW, this reply was posted by a member of TBN - more commonly known as "The Old Farts Website".:D

Accidents can happen to anyone at anytime without warning. Farming which includes the operation of machinery is dangerous and nothing should be taken for granted. Murphy's Law strikes again! How dare that tree jump out like that and hit the tractor, maybe Mr. Tree should meet Mister Chain Saw. Had the sun shade been made of steel, there could have been more damage to the tractor, chalk one up for plastic. Happy there were no injuries and making humor of the event is good, very good and the driver deserves credit for stopping when she did. Good job, what's next?

I am glad you wife was not hurt. Yeah that would have wadded up my steel sunshade pretty bad..I used to have one on an old Long 2360 that was thick steel, and you could literally walk on it, And I did more than once. I hit several limbs with it, and it usually broke them off or pushed them over it. Of course that one might have picked up the front end of the tractor too. Glad it turned out all OK.
