Wife just added gasoline to diesel tractor. What to do?

We cant trust buying anything any more because every product is backed by an "independent study" that proves THEIR product is the best. I can understand why people feel compelled to believe in snake oil remedies because who can you trust? I'm not saying products are bad/good, it just puts people in a position that they MUST do their own research and studies. Case in point: I have been cutting apart oil filters for 40 years looking at quality. I have also read what others have said about the subject and then I decide what I buy.

Years ago folks used to run a little diesel in their gas engines. I did it with a ford 2000 (1962 gas) and it sure made the exhaust smell. If you did chores with this little tractor your clothes would smell like the exhaust.

Next time try Seafoam; and read the label too so you know what you're buying.
In winter, diesel was often cut with kerosene to drop the freeze point. This was done for above ground outdoor home heating oil, and for over the road trucks too.

Many newer diesel makers recommend against mixing kerosene #1 in your fuel. It provides less lube than the ULS fuel. Around the Midwest, winter blend is NOT a blend at all. It only has a anti gelling additive.

I don't know about your diesel outlets . . . but where I go - winter blend comes in 2 choices not one. 1 choice is #2 uls with an anti gel additive. the 2nd choice # 2 ULS blended with #1 ULS plus a complete additive package - and they label right on the pump what it is.

This is the station that I get off road diesel and it describes how they mix winter fuel with additives. I have to say that I have NEVER had a issue with fuel from these guys. I'll keep my eyes open more to what is on other pumps.
