My wife and I picked me up a used 2000 Polaris 400 Scrambler 4x4 four wheeler a couple weeks back. This last sunday she took our 3 yr old Joey for a put-put ride around the yard. Next thing I know, I have the tractor at the pond and am dragging my toy out of the soupy part of the pond were silt has collected for decades. After ranting about doing this with the lil one. I let her know I wasn't mad she got stuck. Just mad she beat me to it, on my new toy.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif great bike though.... Mud was soupy and knee deep. Sad when a fellow has to get muddy pulling out his own bike and he didn't even have the fun of getting it stuck... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Once I pulled it loose from the suction I was able to stand next to it let it motor it's self out to solid ground( I stood next to it working the throtle). Then, Well I played in the mud a bit... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif before heading up to wash...

Sorry no pick it was late in the day and I forgot the camers worring about running out of light...

I subscribe to several ATV magazines and they illustrate pictures of folks running their 4-wheelers in deep mud....for the life of me I have never understood why anybody would INTENTIONALLY do something like that. The only time ours have ever been used in mud was last year, our new neighbor borrowed one to drag his yard to prep it for seeding, when he returned it following a rainfall it took me an hour with a power washer to get it clean again.

One bright spot--it was HER machine I lent him... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Since ours are identical she had no way of knowing the difference.

I'm afraid, I and the 4wheeler were the most muddy. We bothe had to be washed off with the whose before being put away for the day. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Had it not been 40deg I would enjoyed playing in the water.... burrrr...

JDgreen, While I prefer mud to dry and dusty any day. I do try to folow the old rule of thumb. "If you're not sure you can UN-stick by your self...Don't stick it." or "Never get stuck in the mud alone. Drag a friend with you"

40 degrees! Wow! We won't see days that warm for 3-4 months! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif It warmed up to 22 over the weekend and I discovered a great new way of roughing up the ice in the driveway so we had traction when feeding the sheep and chickens. I was out there happily spinning donuts in the driveway for an hour on our ATV! It cut down just enough to bring some of the gravel to the surface. And then of course I had to roar around in the meadow, semi out of control in a foot of snow. It was a blast. Keep your mud; snow cleans up easier! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

yep a wopping 40deg. It did get down to the low 20's last friday and my ford exploder had a 1/2 ice coating thanks to sleet and rain. Also the sat dish's TV and dway had to be thawed with tap water... Sat was fun I hit the ice covered pasture and had a blast slipping around. Snow would have been nice but no luck there. Maybe this week they say there maight be a chance for flurry's...
