Anyway, it looks like it's the starter. I have ground on that thing for long periods of time in the past to get the tractor started and I think the chickens are heading for the roost, if they aren't there now. I'll pull it and have it checked. The fried wire is the wire from the solenoid to the starter, and I am hoping a reman or an overhaul of this one may solve the problem. I will pull off more sheet metal and check out the switch, relays, and wires. I'm starting to figure this out a little bit, thanks to you guys.
