Nice job on that country table...
I worked in the industry for 12 years and then teaching furniture manufacturing at CVCC for 14 years...
I now teach computer apps but it just ain't the same...
Your skills are excellent...
That is a great job...

Turby,

Not sure where Balls Creek is but I know CVCC...Hickory NC, correct? I went to ASU and studied furniture design, metallurgy, electronics, and minored in business, physics, and psychology. Thought about teaching but went into the business end of furniture companies. After 5 years of seeing the waste, and crazy decisions on mass producing funriture I left that and went into sales. Good thing to since it all went to China.

Good job! I went through similar situation years ago. Wife wanted big table. I bought pine at HD, legs from some catalogs and made 8 footer in the backyard of a townhouse. Wifes are the inspiration, eh?

Prokop, Inspiration...maker of list,projects...same thing?:D

Sandbur, I do need a good lath!

Western,

"I hear you on "she gets what she wants" If the boss is happy, every one is happy."

To a degree.....when the boss is happy sometime they just turn the page in the project book and say NEXT!

I work downtown and live out in Matthews area. We wish to get back to the mountains of Va. Currently this area pays the bills.
I'd like to see more of your work.

The table has the square nail holes and some dents, saw marks, etc. and she loves it. So thats all that matters:D

Total cost $70.00...plywood to attached the boards to, stain, and poly.
Wifes approval...priceless:laughing:

David

I hope she showed her approval like only a wife can :D

HR, that is all part off the game we've come to love about our "Mrs", otherwize we "boys" wouldn't have much to do but fun stuff.. As long as I can eat, I do whatever she wants that I can do:thumbsup:

BTW, doing the walls would look real nice, even if just a wainscot and trim.

I have the basket and the strainer plate it sits on as well as both the large and small plates for the top. Those things are bulletproof. It will still be working in another 100 years.

Excellent job. I did something like that when neighbor had a house torn down that was built around 1900.

NO, no , no:D. I have old tools that I use froe, draw knife, brace/bit, etc but a lath will need to be electric.
