Catdriver....I think you are missing the point ...You are entitled to your opinion on how best to handle this situation but You have insulted scesnick's wife....You have called her stupid, Irresponsible and lacking common sense..Now do you think maybe you should have refrained from making it personal and insulting a TBN members wife...?

Notice scesnick just posted an experience his wife had to give us all a warning.

Agree, while I agree in essence with cat driver's assessment as to tactics, I dislike personal attacks and I believe people will be much more receptive to differing opinions if presented in a courteous and respectful manner.

There has been a diversity of opinion expressed and hopefully spurred us to think about our own situations and plans to see if changes should be made. I am certainly no expert and need to reevaluate regularly.

I agree.

None of us were there, she used her best judgement. In the example used, a sniper, guys with AK's really? Sound like a hit squad and they all would have been dead anyway.

IMO I agree with the logic she used. Locking yourself in the house and guys with heavy weapons (cats fantasy example) would be able to get in anyway. Lucky most times thugs want an easy target.

What would she do if the guy really was lost and was sitting in his van trying to call for help? Or looking at a map? Then if he comes to the door for help, then what? She doesn't know what he wants good or bad. She doesn't have the space she had outside.

Or he could have been calling "friends" to come help empty house the coast was clear. By her going out it was forcing the issue.

Again I can see both side as being OK to use, it has to be a judgement made at that time.

Here a thug had a handgun pointed at the owner of a stores son. The owner was in the back and the son at the front counter. The owner took his cell phone and held it like a gun and told the guy to leave his sone alone. He was lucky, the crook took off and didn't fire a shot.

Wifey said he just sat there a minute. My truck was gone and wifey's car was in the garage so i guess it appeared that no one was home.
Wifey grabbed her M&P 9mm and headed out to see what was up with this guy. She was about 30 ft from his van when she yelled if she could help him with something. She had the 9mm behind her back at the time. He didn't say anything, but got out of his van and stood there for a minute so she repeated herself. He then looked around for a second, still not saying anything, then took a step or two towards her. She then put the 9mm in front of her, (but didn't point it at him) and told the man that he better just get in his van and leave.
.

Good Afternoon Scesnick,
Please remind me to e-mail you if I ever decide to visit ! ;):):D
