I didn't even think about trying to show the scale. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif
I was too worried about holding the camera still. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Any way... I think the lizard is a <font color=red>red skink</font color=red> and he was a good 10-11 inches long. If it is indeed a <font color=red>red skink</font color=red>, it's poisonous, so I was thankful for the 10X zoom lens.

I see <font color=blue>"blue"</font color=blue> or <font color=blue>"blue tailed"</font color=blue> skinks around here all the time and they are quite harmless, but this guy was a first for me.

Here ya go w/ the local critters as of about noon today. We had about 2' of snow last night so these guys came looking for the free chow. Note the long tailed elk in the middle!

I've enjoyed all the pictures and the descriptions of all your various encounters. I just picked up a digital camera and I'm happy to be able to add this picture of a ring necked pheasant to the thread (it meandered down our backyard toward the bird feeder the other morning.) I just wish I had a more powerful telephoto lens to give you a better view.

Pheasant are not a common sight in this area anymore. They used to be plentiful. I haven't seen any hens yet this spring --- but I'm hoping to. I did see a few last spring.

Huck -

I don't believe I've ever seen a pheasant that wasn't on a plate, and darn few of those.

Thanks for sharing. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
