Maybe I'll get the impact wrench ($145 bare) with some of the money I saved by getting a light duty 48 inch grapple. There, we are back on topic.
SMOOTH MOVE ISLAND MAN!:D!:D I know I have one of those 48 inch models in my near future!!

Quick update on the 60" Wildkat rock bottom grapple with teeth I bought for my M5040. I was real worried about the weight of the grapple, since it is extreemly heavy duty and weights 700lbs. It is so heavily over built I would expect to see this on the front of a dozer or backhoe. Well, I finally had a chance to use it this weekend.
Over the past year I cut hundreds of Ash Juniper (Cedar) trees to clear out an existing fence line, cut a new fence line through heavy brush and also clear brush for a road. These trees were anything from small bushes to 14ft tall with 10" trunks. Most about 6" - 8" diameter. I was able to use the grapple to pick up the cut brush and start five huge brush burn piles. I piled up the first brush pile and then took the disc harrow I am using as a counter weight and disked up around the pile before starting it burning. (We finally had enough rain for the burn ban to be lifted and the ground was still damp and slightly muddy). I would then start the next burn pile and so on (These burn piles are all in sight of each other). The grapple worked great, it is a little on the heavy side, but not too bad. I really like the teeth, I was able to to push over and then use the teeth to pop the Cedar trees out of the ground roots and all. The rock bottom also work well since I can see thru it. In picking up and moving the cut trees, I would use the weight of the grapple to crush the branches of the trees down so I could grab more than one tree in one bite. Overall I am very pleased with the construction of the grapple. It is working great so far.

I guess I am outta luck, the 48" econo grapple mentioned in the first couple post is not even listed, just the rock/grapple @ $900, or the 48" grapple for a mini skidsteer (walk behinds). Looks like they saw the rest of the market pricing.

Call them. These are small businesses and their websites are often out of date.

Don't think so but let us know if it has changed. Ask or the 48" Economy grapple. It's $599 and they'll knock $50 off if you don't need the couplings. Going on the 3rd working weekend with mine and I'm finding all kinds of uses for it. Made light work of a beaver dam yesterday. Haven't put the bucket back on since i've had it.

They custom made me a rock bucket with grapple... it was one nice bucket

They even started making that one and used the picutres from mine on their adds in ebay.

That thing could work!

First Class Company!

These grapple manufacturers are not real big operations. They can be pretty flexible especially if you can get past the new hire answering the phone. Ask to talk with the owner or shop manager. It is trivial for them to make modifications so long as you can communicate what you need in precise language.

I'm coming from the rear remotes forward along the left side of the 4120. Mounting a bulkhead on the tube that the 400x loader sits on and another bulkhead out the loader arm itself.

Well, I finally got the time to get this completed. It looks from the prices guys are posting for the Wildkat econo's, I'm glad I got mine when I did! I posted the hookup over in the Hydro forum:
