"One more thing, with a rear mounted mower you are driving over the grass not once but twice before you cut it so you will need suction or high lift. "

I have been VERY impressed with the cut quality of the GM1072R. It seems to have plenty of suction, you can see the blades of grass being pulled towards the deck from several inches away. At any rate, it doesn't have any problem standing up the blades for cutting and never leaves grass standing.

This mower is built like a tank, which is probably why it is so heavy. My only issue has been that the paint started flaking off rather early, but this may have been because the dealer monkeyied (how do you spell that, anyway?) around with the paint before I got it.

On the other hand, it is made by Woods and I have heard from others on this forum that Woods paint quality isn't the best to begin with.

Runner,
I should have stated high thick grass. As I stated before "it worked well in low grass"

Thanks for the info fellows. I went back out to buy the mower and after further review I passed. Too much work to get it right. I did find a sweet deal on a 5' KK tiller. $1250 still on the shipping pallet. The guy had 20 of them. Last I checked they were $1500 at TSC. I'll start a new thread for some questions I have on that. I hope I find a FM before the grass starts growing. It'll have to be cheap since I bought the tiller.
