Hearing good things about the Ratchet Rake attachment. Found a slightly used 72" model.

The good folks at Ratchet Rake said it was too big and heavy and not designed for use on
a smaller/lower hp tractor.

Anyone use the 72" on a 60" bucket??

I have a 72" on a 72" bucket and while it is heavy it is only 100 or so pounds. Also couldn't you just cut it down to 60" - they only go on with straps and binders

What is your opinion on how they work for removing brush, grading, etc.?

I need to remove some large pricker bushes and other brush and then plan on using this to grade a dirt drive.

Are you satisfied with how it works?

Yes, it adds a whole new dimension to the usefulness of a FEL. Perfect for briars and tough Buckthorn. Don't use mine for much grading but others have posted on TBN that it works for that purpose.

Yep, it is actually a lot of fun to push out the pricker bushes from the tractor seat instead of other methods I've employed (chain saw, sickle mower, brush cutter, trimmer with saw blade). I can see a need for a grapple to accompany this tool for when you want to collect up all the brush and move it to one spot. The rake attaches via two heavy clips onto the bucket with straps holding it in place. The clips ought to be within your bucket width.

You can go on Ratchet Rakes web site and it shows the dimensions of the clips. That way you can make sure it will fit. I think zzvyb6 is correct in that it will probably work.

jodebg I have a 72" RR for 72" FEL and love it. I used mine to clear out saplings where I wanted to make me a burn site and it took me no time. I have only made one pass on parts for the driveway just to check it out and the wife said it did make a difference. It takes no time to hookup or take off but I hear some use the straps to attach or go with chains and binders. But as far as fitting for your tractor it most likely need to be cut and this tool is no way can be used for digging. In one photo you can see there are extra holes to mount a hook to secure the tool that I don't use. Here is a few photo's when I made my burn pile and cleared what loggers left for a mess.

I have a BX with a 48" bucket & bought a 60" Rachet Rake when they had them on clearance at TSC. I cut it with a chop saw & had to reposition 1 bracket. Cut easier than I thought it would.

I say if the price is right, go for it.

Did you cut one end off to shorten and then cut a bracket off and weld in a different location?
