Will a 72" Ratchet Rake fit correctly on 60" B7800/30hp tractor?

Why not just use the two middle mounting points on the 72" model or am I missing something? The two end mounting points probably extend past your 60" bucket. The picture in post #15 above shows the four mounting points. The two middle ones should be fine once you have the cables and ratchet straps on. Good luck with the rake :).

My 72" RR has the 4 attaching brackets on the top but only the 2 outside on the bottom. Not sure if everybody's is like that or if they just forgot to put the inside 2 on mine. In all pictures you see only 2 straps are ever shown so I just assumed they only had 2 on the bottom. Why there's 4 on top....who knows.

We have a Ratchet Rake on our B7800. The important part would be so see if the attachment brackets fit within your bucket. If so the size does not matter as the rake be cut down to any size with most any metal working cutter. Hope this helps, Dave

Thanks Dave. Just wondering if you have done any modifications to your headlights?
Obviously, the 1156 bulbs are weak and wondering if a changeover to LED bulbs would
be the answer? Or, replacing with sealed beam bulbs and new wire connectors to match?

Hi jodebg,

Yes, we put these lights on our B7800, Rigid Industries LED Lighting | Leader in Off road LED light bars, truck LED lights, Marine LEDs, and Industrial LEDs

The lights come come with a wiring harness, and the total install time was probably 20 minutes, with securing the lights to the roll bar with radiator clamps, taping the switch to something at the right of the seat, and running the wires below the engine, directly to the battery. We did not disturb any original wiring.

I chose these lights because these lights/company seem to have a good reputation, the lights came with the switch, connectors and wiring . All I had to do was to make the battery connections, run the wires and tie the lights to the tractor.

The B7800 has terrible headlights, but they are useless anyway because the loader blocks all forward illumination. Lights on the rollbar solved that problem. Because we have a backhoe, one light is pointed forward, the other backwards. These light work fine, even for driving lights. I got mine from some (unremembered) offroad internet site. They were a little less expensive than the factory list. There are other good lights out there but I would use LED lights because of the relatively small alternator on the B7800. You do not want your light pulling more amps more than your alternator is putting out.

I hope this helps. Touch back as it works for you, Dave

jodebg,

Thinking over our Ratchet Rake experience, we can mount ours on the Piranha Tooth Bar, that we have rather permanently installed on our bucket. However, since we have the Piranha tooth bar, we rarely use the Ratchet Rake. We can accomplish almost everything we do, with the Piranha tooth bar and it has other capabilities.

I hope this does not confuse the issue. If you are considering the Piranha route, call the the BX expanded folks, and give them the exact inside measurement of your loader, so they can make the precise size that you need.. If I remember correctly the prices are about the same for both. Dave

Seems as though the RR would be better at brush clearing and general grading...what is your experience?
