My BX22 is being prepped at the dealer as I type!! But I have a question. I had intended to use it to pull a spray rig and put down a herbicide, but to do this well, it has to be able to maintain a constant speed. I realized (a little late) that the BX22 has no cruise control... Also, it's not gear driven, so I am a little concerned it won't maintain a speed. Any owners out there?

I think you should be able to maintain a pretty constant speed with it. It's just a function of how steady you hold your foot on the hyrdo pedal. I never really tried to maintain a set speed but when I mow I think my speed stays pretty constant.

Thanks Bob.
Do you or anyone know if there is an aftermarket cruise control available?

Joe, I really doubt this is an issue. I never use the cruise on my 2410--NEVER. I never need it on my BX either. The pedal pressure is so light that there will be no problem doing the things you mention.
No, there is no after market cruise control but you might be able to stick a 2X4 on the pedal /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. J

OK OK. So I'm overreacting. Thanks for the replies, anyway. I do like the block of wood concept, though. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

If your sprayer has an electric pump versus pto driven, you can hold the foot pedal all the way down and just adjust your throttle to attain the desired speed. This is pretty much what I do when spraying.
I added the tiny-tach to my BX to help with repeatability. After figuring out a comfortable speed and calibrating my sprayer, I took note of the rpm's and speed setting and wrote it down so that I can maintain the same spraying conditions. For example, in Low, 2000 rpm and full pedal, the sprayer will apply X gallons per acre.
