Will a clamp-on debris fork/rake scoop this?

If you used chain-on bucket forks, (as opposed to clamp-ons) they wouldn't be flimsy or move around, but you'd probably need 4of them, and even with the Yankee Warehouse ones that we bought, you would already be approaching the price point of the debris forks you gave as a reference.

I think if you get those you will be happy with them, and counter to the remark that at only 16" of extra length, they won't help that much, look at the pictures of them picking up that rotten hay or bedding, and know that the will do even better with the stiffer thicker shredded wood.

Just me ... But ... I feel two much credit is given to "3rd function" yes it's nice BUT I run all my external by the rear remotes .. Hoses to the front plug them in as u need them ... Geez save the cash ... It's also very easy to put a top closing thumb on forks.

I know a grapple would be the best option however we don't have a 3rd function and are looking for a cheaper solution. I was looking at clamp-on forks or debris rakes like this one. Do you guys think an attachment like this will scoop the material in the picture below? If not is there a better solution besides a full on grapple bucket?
Get the grapple, you will get much more use with a grapple in the future.

Read the grapple threads, everyone says they wish they would have got it sooner.

Can't do this with forks.

Great for cedar trees.

rental vs cost of buying something.... if this is one major job thing. i would say rental.
internet phone books stink. open up the old paper phone book and look up "machinery rental" and call up a couple places even 1 to 2 hours away... prices can be that different, to make it worth while to go drive and pick up a unit, or have it hauled in to you.

contact a local tree company, and have them come in with there large truck and mulcher machines. and let them shred it all again. if you want to use it as mulch.

with above said, i would be cautious if using your tractor, i see nice spears, that will poke through your radiator in a heart beat.

your on right track of type of forks.

you might try calling up some local tractor dealers, and see if they have a 4in1 bucket, or manure forks or like you can rent. possibly a grapple as well. never hurts to spend some time calling around asking if you can set down and find the time.

no easy solution, it needs to be done, and it will cost, just figuring out what will work best, buying, or renting, and get it done regardless of time that it will take to deal with it.

one other option... if you have a backhoe, get a thumb for it. a mini ex (mini excavator) you might get at rental store with a thumb on it or a grapple like bucket. *shrugs*
