traded MF135 for a 2605 4x4 &added a Mahindra eMax 22HST
We recently got a new eMax 22. I have a 4' Bush Hog brand rotary cutter that I used on a B John Deer and MF 135 (until I up graded to a 6' footer). I converted it from a trailer to a 3 point hitch for the MF135. Was wondering if the eMax has enough power to run the cutter?

It depends on the gear box hp requirements of the cutter.

It depends on what your cutting and how fast you want to go.

It's the load's (the grass and brush) power requirements that determines how much power is required from the tractor.
The load's power requirement are a function of the material being cut and the quantity that's being cut, which is a function of material density, width of cutter and speed it's being cut at.
If it bogs down on power, either go slower or take a partial swath.
...or get a bigger tractor or smaller mower.

This is probably not the answer your looking for.
Some say 5hp per foot width of mower is a good rule. ....but's its only a generalization. At 17Hp your probably close enough.
